Kiddos Connect is operated by Ethoma, L.L.C., doing business as Kiddos Connect ("Kiddos," "we," "us," or "our"). Kiddos is a community platform designed to connect Neighbors with Parents who have authorized their Youth to participate in opportunities to perform routine, age-appropriate tasks in their communities. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Kiddos website, application, services, communications, payment features, and related functionality (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account, authorizing a Youth to participate, posting or accepting a job, or otherwise using Kiddos, you agree to these Terms.
Kiddos provides technology that connects Neighbors with Parents and their authorized Youth for routine, age-appropriate tasks.
Kiddos is not a contractor, home-services company, staffing agency, employer, or professional-services provider. Kiddos does not perform jobs posted through the Platform and does not employ, supervise, professionally train, or direct the Youth who perform them.
Youth participating through Kiddos are not presented as licensed contractors, skilled tradespeople, or licensed professionals.
Kiddos is intended for ordinary tasks that may reasonably be performed by young people, such as lawn mowing, snow shoveling, leaf raking, yard cleanup, light cleanup, and other permitted tasks.
Kiddos provides technology for functions that may include job postings, communications, Proof of Work, payments, ratings, reviews, recognition, and other Platform features.
Kiddos does not guarantee that a job will be accepted or completed, that any user will perform as expected, or that work will meet a particular standard.
Participation by Youth is limited to eligible young people ages 12 through 17.
A Youth may not independently establish access to Kiddos. A Parent or legal guardian must first register with Kiddos and authorize the Youth’s participation.
The Parent maintains the primary Parent account relationship with Kiddos and grants the Youth access to the Platform. Parent involvement is an ongoing condition of a Youth’s participation, not merely an initial authorization.
The Parent maintains visibility into their Youth’s Platform activity through the features provided by Kiddos and is expected to stay involved before, during, and after jobs as reasonably appropriate.
Once authorized, a Youth may access a personal Dashboard where available job opportunities may be presented. The Youth decides whether to accept or reject individual job opportunities.
Parent authorization does not obligate a Youth to accept any job, and Kiddos does not guarantee any particular number or type of jobs.
Parents may revoke their Youth’s access subject to Kiddos’ account procedures.
Kiddos - Kiddos provides the technology that connects Neighbors with Parents and authorized Youth and facilitates Platform features such as job postings, communications, Proof of Work, payments, and community reputation.
Neighbors - Neighbors request appropriate work, accurately describe the job, provide a reasonably safe environment, fulfill applicable equipment responsibilities, communicate appropriately, and pay amounts properly due.
Youth - Youth decide which jobs to accept, honor accepted commitments, perform work responsibly and to the best of their ability, communicate appropriately, speak up about safety concerns, and submit required Proof of Work.
Parents - Parents authorize and oversee their Youth’s participation, stay involved, maintain visibility into Platform activity, supervise and coach their Youth, make appropriate transportation and equipment decisions, and serve as the first line of safety, support and dispute resolution.
The Community - Members of the Kiddos community help build trust by providing honest ratings, reviews, recognition, and feedback based on actual experiences.
Neighbors must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into agreements.
Participating Youth must be 12 through 17 years old and must have access authorized by a Parent or legal guardian.
A person registering as a Parent or guardian represents that they have legal authority to authorize the Youth’s participation.
Users agree to provide accurate information and keep account information reasonably current. Users may not impersonate another person, create fraudulent accounts, misrepresent their relationship to a Youth, or permit unauthorized use of an account.
Kiddos may request information reasonably necessary to administer accounts, process transactions, protect the community, investigate suspected misuse, or comply with applicable law.
Stay Involved - Parents are responsible for remaining informed about their Youth’s Kiddos activity and determining whether a particular job, task, Neighbor, location, schedule, working condition, or circumstance is appropriate for their Youth. The fact that a job appears on Kiddos does not mean Kiddos has determined that the job is appropriate or safe for a particular Youth.
Coach - Parents are expected to coach their Youth on how to perform accepted jobs safely, responsibly, courteously, and to a high standard.
Support Don’t substitute - Parents may teach, demonstrate, coach, supervise, and reasonably assist their Youth. However, the Youth who accepted the job should remain the primary person performing the work. Parents may not use a Youth’s Kiddos access as a means of obtaining work primarily for themselves.
Transportation - Parents are responsible for determining and arranging appropriate transportation to and from job locations. Kiddos does not provide transportation and is not responsible for transportation arrangements made by users.
Tools and Equipment - Parents are responsible for determining whether tools and equipment used by their Youth are appropriate considering age, maturity, abilities, experience, and the nature of the task. If a Neighbor provides equipment, the Parent remains responsible for deciding whether the equipment and its use are appropriate for their Youth.
Help Resolve Concerns - Parents are the first line of support and dispute resolution for their Youth. If a Neighbor reports a concern, the Parent should help the Youth understand it, communicate appropriately, and, where reasonable, correct the work.
Neighbors are responsible for creating appropriate opportunities and treating participating Parents and Youth fairly and respectfully.
Neighbors must accurately describe the requested work and scope; request only routine, age-appropriate work permitted by Kiddos; disclose known conditions that could materially affect safety; provide a reasonably safe environment; communicate respectfully; not materially expand job scope after acceptance without agreement; promptly review Proof of Work; report legitimate concerns promptly; and pay amounts properly due through the Platform.
Tools and Equipment. The Neighbor and Parent are responsible for determining who will provide necessary tools or equipment. If a Neighbor provides equipment, the Neighbor is responsible for providing equipment in reasonably safe operating condition and appropriate for the task. Kiddos does not inspect, maintain, approve, or certify user-provided equipment.
Kiddos is intended for routine, light, youth-appropriate tasks, including lawn mowing, snow shoveling, leaf raking, yard cleanup, and light garage or outdoor cleanup.
The Platform may also offer an “Other” category for light, one-time, youth-appropriate tasks that do not fall within a listed category. An “Other” job is not automatically permitted merely because it can be posted. It remains subject to these Terms, Kiddos safety rules, and Kiddos’ right to remove inappropriate work.
Whether a particular task is appropriate may depend upon the Youth’s age, abilities, experience, equipment, weather, property conditions, and other circumstances. Parents and Youth should use their own judgment when evaluating every opportunity.
Kiddos may not be used to request work requiring professional licensing, specialized trade expertise, inherently hazardous activities, illegal activities, or other work Kiddos considers inappropriate for Youth.
Examples include roofing or gutter work; electrical, plumbing, HVAC, furnace, or structural work; dangerous tree work; work at unsafe heights; handling hazardous chemicals or materials; use of inappropriate heavy or dangerous machinery; weapons-related activities; alcohol, tobacco, controlled-substance, or drug-related errands; illegal activities; and other activities Kiddos determines are inappropriate.
Kiddos may remove a job or restrict an account when it reasonably believes Platform rules have been violated.
Available jobs may be displayed on an authorized Youth’s Dashboard. The Youth may decide to accept or reject an opportunity and should accept only jobs they reasonably believe they can perform safely and responsibly.
Once accepted, the job becomes a commitment between the participating users subject to these Terms. Kiddos does not direct a Youth to accept any particular job and does not guarantee work or earnings.
To facilitate coordination, limited contact information may be made available to the participating Parent, Youth, and Neighbor after a job has been accepted, subject to Platform design and privacy settings.
Users may use contact information obtained through Kiddos only for legitimate purposes related to the job or other permitted Kiddos interactions and may not improperly distribute, publish, sell, exploit, harass, solicit, or otherwise misuse another user’s personal information.
All adult-to-Youth communications must be appropriate, respectful, and reasonably related to legitimate Kiddos activity. Adults may not engage in sexual or suggestive communication, grooming behavior, exploitation, requests for secrecy, attempts to isolate a Youth from a Parent, or attempts to circumvent Parent visibility or Platform safety protections.
Kiddos may immediately restrict or suspend an account when it reasonably suspects inappropriate adult-to-Youth conduct and may preserve records or cooperate with lawful authorities as permitted or required by law.
The Neighbor sets the offered price for the job. Eligible Youth can see the offered compensation before deciding whether to accept the opportunity.
A Youth is free to accept or reject the job at that price. Once accepted, the parties should honor the agreed job price and scope. A Neighbor may not materially expand the work required after acceptance without agreement.
Kiddos does not determine the compensation offered by the Neighbor.
Youth must upload Proof of Work photographs through Kiddos before submitting a job as complete. Proof of Work should reasonably demonstrate completion of the work described in the job posting.
Users should avoid unnecessarily including people, private documents, vehicle license plates, home interiors, or other sensitive information in Proof of Work photographs.
Proof of Work may be available to the participating Youth, Parent, and Neighbor and may be reviewed by Kiddos when reasonably necessary to administer the Platform, resolve an issue, process payment, investigate suspected misuse, or enforce these Terms.
False or intentionally misleading Proof of Work may result in job cancellation, payment action where permitted, account restrictions, or removal from Kiddos.
Once the Youth completes the work, uploads required Proof of Work, and submits the job as complete, the Neighbor has 24 hours to review the work.
During the 24-hour review period, the Neighbor may Approve the Job or Report an Issue.
Report an Issue - When a Neighbor reports an issue, the Youth will have an opportunity, where reasonable and appropriate, to address the concern. The Parent should help the Youth understand and respond. After addressing the issue, the Youth should upload new Proof of Work demonstrating the corrected or additional work. The Neighbor may approve the job at any time once satisfied.
Kiddos may establish reasonable time limits and procedures for resolving reported issues so jobs do not remain unresolved indefinitely.
Automatic Approval. If the Neighbor does not approve the job or Report an Issue within 24 hours after the Youth submits the completed job and required Proof of Work, the job will be automatically approved. Following Auto Approval, applicable funds will be released or transferred to the Parent Account, subject to payment procedures and processing times.
Kiddos may use one or more third-party payment processors to facilitate transactions.
Before a job is posted or performed, Kiddos may place a temporary authorization on the Neighbor’s payment method sufficient to cover the job price, applicable Platform fees, and an allowance for an optional tip. A temporary authorization is not necessarily the final charge and may temporarily reduce the amount of credit or funds available to the Neighbor.
After completion and approval, the final transaction will reflect amounts properly due, including any optional tip selected by the Neighbor. Any unused portion of a temporary authorization will be released in accordance with the payment processor’s and financial institution’s procedures and processing times.
Youth earnings are credited, released, or made payable through the Parent Account and are not paid directly by Kiddos to a minor. The Parent is responsible for managing funds received through the Parent Account on behalf of the Youth and for any applicable legal, tax, banking, or reporting obligations.
Platform fees will be disclosed through Kiddos before the applicable transaction is authorized.
Tips are voluntary and a Neighbor may select no tip.
Where offered by the Platform, suggested recognition and tip options may include Keep It Up! - 10%, Great Job! - 15%, Exceptional! - 20%, and Above & Beyond! - 30%. Kiddos may modify available labels or percentages with appropriate disclosure through the Platform.
A Youth is not entitled to a tip merely because a job was completed, and a Neighbor’s decision not to tip does not necessarily indicate dissatisfaction.
Any amount temporarily authorized to accommodate a potential tip that is not ultimately selected will be released subject to payment-provider and financial-institution processing times.
A Neighbor may cancel a posted Job before it is accepted. Jobs cancelled before acceptance will incur a $6 cancellation fee. A Neighbor may not cancel a posted job after a Youth has accepted it.
Kiddos does not independently vet, screen, investigate, certify, endorse, or guarantee Neighbors, Parents, or Youth.
A person’s presence on Kiddos does not mean Kiddos has determined that the person is trustworthy, qualified, competent, safe, or suitable.
Kiddos may provide Ratings, Reviews, Completed Job History, Recognition, Badges, and Other Community Feedback. These are community-reputation tools, not background checks, professional certifications, safety guarantees, or endorsements by Kiddos.
Users are encouraged to consider available Platform information and exercise their own judgment when deciding whether to interact with another user.
Feedback should be honest, respectful, relevant, and based on an actual interaction. Users may not submit fraudulent or knowingly false feedback, manipulate ratings, retaliate through reviews, threaten another person regarding a review, or submit abusive, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate content.
Kiddos may remove, restrict, or decline to publish content that violates Platform policies. Badges and recognition acknowledge positive participation, character, and community experiences and do not constitute professional qualifications or certifications.
Kiddos is intended to foster respectful interactions among Neighbors, Parents, and Youth.
Users may not engage in harassment, threats, bullying, discrimination, sexual or inappropriate communication, fraud, intimidation, exploitation, grooming, coercion, or other conduct inconsistent with a safe community environment.
Kiddos may take reasonable Platform action when inappropriate conduct is reported or discovered.
Step 1 - Communicate. The Youth and Neighbor should communicate respectfully about ordinary questions or concerns involving the job.
Step 2 - Parent Involvement. If the concern is not readily resolved, the Parent should become involved. The Parent serves as the Youth’s first line of support and dispute resolution and should help the Youth understand the concern, communicate with the Neighbor, and determine whether reasonable corrective work is appropriate.
Step 3 - Kiddos Support. If participating users cannot resolve an issue, they may request assistance from Kiddos. Kiddos may review Platform information, including the original job description, price, communications, timestamps, Proof of Work, updated Proof of Work, and payment records.
Kiddos may take reasonable Platform-related actions, including approving or cancelling a transaction where permitted, facilitating a refund, restricting an account, or taking other actions consistent with Platform policies. Kiddos’ assistance does not make Kiddos the contractor, employer, supervisor, or service provider for the underlying work.
Safety takes priority over completing a job.
Parents Stay Involved - Parents are expected to remain aware of where their Youth is working, what work is being performed, and the conditions reasonably relevant to the Youth’s safety.
Youth Speak Up - A Youth may decline to begin or may stop performing a task if the Youth or Parent reasonably believes the task, environment, equipment, weather conditions, requested activity, or other circumstances are unsafe, inappropriate, or materially different from the job originally posted.
Neighbors Keep It Safe - Neighbors must provide a reasonably safe environment, disclose known material hazards, and must not knowingly expose Youth to unreasonable hazards or request work outside the agreed job scope or Kiddos’ permitted activities.
A Neighbor may not penalize or retaliate against a Youth for raising a legitimate safety concern. In an emergency, users should contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service. Kiddos is not an emergency-response service.
Kiddos may collect or use location-related information as described in the Privacy Policy to operate job discovery, eligibility, safety, fraud-prevention, and other Platform functions.
Kiddos may limit the precision of location information displayed before a job is accepted. The Platform may use an approximate area, distance, service area, or other location-limiting method rather than displaying a precise residential address to every user.
After acceptance, additional location information reasonably necessary to perform the job may be shared with participating users, subject to Platform design, Parent visibility, and the Privacy Policy.
Users may not use job-location information to stalk, harass, solicit, exploit, or contact another user for an unrelated or improper purpose.
Jobs arranged through Kiddos may involve physical activity and therefore may involve risks including personal injury, property damage, accidents, equipment damage, or other loss.
Users acknowledge that Kiddos provides a technology platform and does not perform, direct, supervise, inspect, or control the work performed by users and does not inspect job locations or user-provided tools or equipment.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Neighbors agree not to hold Ethoma, L.L.C. d/b/a Kiddos Connect responsible or liable for property damage, personal injury, accident, loss, or other harm arising from or related to work requested, accepted, arranged, or performed through the Platform or from tools or equipment provided or used in connection with that work.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Neighbors acknowledge and agree that Kiddos Connect and Ethoma, L.L.C. are not responsible for property damage or injury caused by or arising from the acts, omissions, conduct, or work of a Youth, Parent, Neighbor, or other Platform user.
Parents acknowledge that routine physical work may involve inherent risks and accept responsibility for evaluating whether a particular opportunity, task, environment, and equipment are appropriate for their Youth.
Users should not assume that participation in Kiddos automatically provides insurance coverage for personal injury, property damage, automobile-related incidents, or other losses.
Parents and Neighbors are responsible for determining whether their own insurance coverage is appropriate for their participation.
Kiddos provides a platform through which Neighbors connect with Parents and their authorized Youth. Kiddos does not employ participating Youth and does not guarantee jobs, working hours, earnings, or income.
Kiddos does not represent Youth as professional contractors, licensed tradespeople, or professional service providers.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to create an employment, partnership, joint venture, agency, or professional-services relationship between Kiddos and a Youth, Parent, or Neighbor. The legal characterization of relationships between individual users may depend upon applicable law and the circumstances of the particular activity.
Users are responsible for understanding any tax, employment, household-service, licensing, permit, or other legal requirements that may apply to their individual circumstances.
Kiddos may provide information or documentation when required by law but does not provide legal, tax, employment, or financial advice.
Parents are responsible for addressing tax or reporting obligations applicable to funds received through the Parent Account on behalf of their Youth.
Kiddos’ collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information are governed by the Kiddos Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Because Youth participate on Kiddos, the Platform may employ additional Parent authorization, account visibility, location, communication, data-sharing, and privacy protections.
Parents should review the Privacy Policy before authorizing a Youth’s participation. Proof of Work photographs, job information, location information, and other Platform activity may contain personal information and should be handled appropriately by all users.
Users may not use Kiddos to engage in fraud or deception; harassment or intimidation; impersonation; exploitation or grooming of a Youth; illegal activity; inappropriate adult-to-Youth communication; misuse of personal information; fraudulent job postings; false Proof of Work; manipulation of ratings or reviews; payment fraud; unauthorized transactions; attempts to circumvent Parent visibility or Platform safety protections; or other conduct Kiddos reasonably determines threatens the Platform or community.
Kiddos may remove jobs, restrict Platform functionality, suspend accounts, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate safety concerns, address suspected fraud or misconduct, enforce these Terms, comply with law, or protect Kiddos and its community.
Kiddos may act immediately where it reasonably believes a Youth may be at risk. Kiddos may preserve relevant Platform records and cooperate with lawful requests from governmental or law-enforcement authorities where required or permitted by law.
Users may submit photographs, job descriptions, reviews, messages, profile information, and other content through Kiddos. Users are responsible for content they submit and should not upload content they do not have the right to provide.
Users retain applicable ownership rights in their content but grant Kiddos the rights reasonably necessary to host, display, process, store, and use that content for operating, administering, securing, and improving the Platform and providing applicable services, subject to the Privacy Policy.
The Kiddos name, logo, Platform design, software, graphics, badge designs, content, trademarks, and other intellectual property owned by Ethoma, L.L.C. may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or commercially used without authorization.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Kiddos intellectual property to a user.
Kiddos may use third-party providers for payment processing, communications, identity-related functionality, hosting, mapping, or other Platform features.
Use of certain third-party services may be subject to additional terms or privacy practices. Kiddos is not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of third-party providers except as required by applicable law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Kiddos Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Kiddos does not guarantee that a job will be posted, accepted, or completed; the conduct of any user; the quality or outcome of work; the accuracy of user-generated ratings or reviews; that another user is suitable or trustworthy; that every interaction will be free from disagreement, loss, or risk; or continuous or error-free availability of the Platform.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ethoma, L.L.C. d/b/a Kiddos and its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the Platform or interactions between users.
Any additional limitation or cap on liability will be governed by the final legally approved version of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, users agree to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising from their violation of these Terms, unlawful conduct, misuse of the Platform, infringement of another person’s rights, or conduct in connection with a job arranged through Kiddos.
Kiddos may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue Platform features and may change fees, policies, operating procedures, available job categories, tip options, or other features from time to time.
Where appropriate, material changes will be communicated through the Platform or other reasonable means.
Kiddos may update these Terms periodically. When required by law or when changes are material, Kiddos will provide appropriate notice.
Continued use of Kiddos after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms and disputes involving Kiddos will be governed by the law specified in the final legally approved Terms, subject to applicable consumer protections and other laws that cannot be waived.
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to be in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
These Terms, together with the Kiddos Privacy Policy, Job & Safety Guidelines, Payment, Cancellation & Job Completion Policy, and any additional policies expressly incorporated into these Terms, constitute the agreement between the user and Kiddos regarding use of the Platform, except where additional terms are expressly applicable.
